‘Back on track’ – Michael Irvin’s November meeting could hold key to Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys masterplan for Deion Sanders

The drumbeat for Deion Sanders taking over as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys is getting stronger. Coach Prime held talks with owner Jerry Jones over taking over America’s Team following Mike McCarthy’s exit. He was met with resistance. “The University of Colorado would neither confirm or deny the information when I reached out. Deion Sanders didn’t respond when reached multiple times for comment.” Cowboys legend Michael Irvin, who won three Super Bowls in Dallas, has been banging the drum for his friend to take over the world’s most valuable sports team since November. “I spent Friday night with Jerry Jones. I spent Saturday with ⁦@DeionSanders,” he wrote on X. “I spent Sunday with the lord PRAYING for ???? ????? (GUEST WHAT) Now after what the @dallascowboys look like on Monday Night Football. I must work harder!!!!!” Irvin is a regular on Speak and issued a positive update for Cowboys fans desperate to have Coach Prime on board. “He [Jones] has to get something that says, ‘Okay, this is why I let Mike McCarthy go, I had a better plan in mind,” he said. “I thought, ‘This might get my plan back on track.’ And yes it did, a phone call was made. “I don’t know how any GM or AD or anybody who says, ‘We got to get over the hump and get our team to a better place,’ can not sit down and consider Deion Sanders with the track record he has laid out before you. “If you’re not considering him you’re not doing your job totally. And hiring the Hall of Famer, who played for the Cowboys from 1995 to 1999 and won Super Bowl XXX alongside Irvin, would be his masterpiece. Coach Prime would have no issue handling the spotlight, which could be a sticking point as Jones likes to be front and center. ESPN’s Louis Riddick doesn’t think Jones is able to share. “There’s the business and then there’s the profession,” he said. Look, from the business standpoint, this has a lot of people excited and I get it. I understand why. “These are two of the biggest personalities in American sports, in the history of American sports for obviously different reasons. But then there’s the profession. “See, I know Deion the professional as well as the businessman. But I know him even more so as the professional. This is just not a match to me that seems like it makes a whole lot of sense from a professional standpoint. “Deion is the ultimate alpha – the ultimate alpha.
