Ayo Edebiri’s Golden Globes Suit Was Inspired by ’90s Julia Roberts—and ’03 Carmelo Anthony

Edebiri’s suit came fitted with a matching collared shirt, draped trousers (marred only by an unfortunately conspicuous logo patch), pointed oxfords, and a snaking gold feather-shaped tie necklace. (“I could not have known that it was going to become this, like, statement outfit,” Roberts recently told Vogue.) The reference made even more sense given that Edebiri and Roberts both recently wrapped filming the upcoming Luca Guadagnino thriller After the Hunt, which will also feature Andrew Garfield and Chloë Sevigny.But Edebiri also shared an image of a babyfaced Carmelo Anthony sporting his truly enormous six-button gray suit at the 2003 NBA Draft.
