And what better place to do it than the Ritz Salty Club?
Who's saltiest — Aubrey Plaza, Michael Shannon or a Ritz cracker?
Ritz's first-ever Super Bowl commercial takes cracker and football fans alike to the Ritz Salty Club, where smiles are forbidden and an attitude is required for entry. Featuring "famously salty" duo Plaza and Shannon — in addition to smiley rule-breaker Bad Bunny — Ritz's 30-second ad puts the classic salty snack in the spotlight.
The commercial begins in Salt Flats, Utah, where the Ritz Salty Club is surrounded by miles and miles of salt. In walks Plaza and Shannon, scowling at random members of the Salty Club — who return the favor with an eye roll. A man yells about not getting exact change, setting the vibe in the salt sanctuary. "These are our people," Plaza says, and Shannon adds, "our salty brethren."
Plaza claims she's the saltiest in the joint, to which Shannon replies, "Saltier than me? When I smile, people think it's a glitch." He bares his teeth in the most unnatural way possible.
"Oh, please," Plaza fires back. "I'm the human version of Monday," she says, and then hisses.
The pair's mood seems to lighten when they take a bite of a Ritz cracker — but that in itself annoys them.
"Buttery soft, very salty showoffs," Shannon says, inspecting the cracker with a growing scowl creeping across his face.
From out of view, Bad Bunny exclaims, "I love them!" as he raises a cracker like he's making a toast. He's the only one in the entire building smiling. RITZ Crackers/Youtube Bad Bunny, Aubrey Plaza and Michael Shannon.

"Read the sign, buddy!" Shannon yells, and the camera pans to a big red sign that reads "No smiles allowed." Bad Bunny brushes it off, and Plaza scolds him, noting that his cheery behavior might get them kicked out of the Salty Club.
Bad Bunny lowers his shades. "So?" Plaza shrugs. "That's better."
This year’s Super Bowl commercials have featured numerous celebrity appearances. Matthew McConaughey, Charli xcx and Martha Stewart starred in a series of ads for Uber Eats, while Shania Twain played a singing tongue for Coffee mate and David Beckham found his long-lost "twin brother" Matt Damon in a playful ad for Stella Artois.
