The league is set to tip off its inaugural season on January 17 and players and coaches have all gathered in Miami as preparation for the tournament begins. The league will feature six teams of six players over nine weeks of play including a playoff round. The six teams will compete in a round-robin format with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. Reese will play for Rose Basketball and training camp for the team has begun with the 22-year-old getting the opportunity to practise with her teammates and build chemistry. Footage from their training sessions have already appeared on social media with Reese filmed sinking threes on the court from the corner. One exciting feature fans have pointed out on social media is that Chelsea Gray and Reese will be teammates for Rose BC. In a post on X, by Rose BC, Gray made a great pass to Reese after a pick-and-roll screen. The Sky forward received the ball and made a falling layup which she banked and a foul was called. Most of the footage emerging online is Reese finishing on display with fans calling out a clear improvement in her both threes and layups. “Looks like the whole team, not the two. Maybe Gray can help her with proper layup,” a fan tweeted. Year 2 finna be a movie. Wow,” another fan replied. Lexie Hull, another Rose BC player, could not contain her own excitement about playing with Gray and just how elite the veteran’s passing ability is. “I’m used to getting right or left-handed passes.. these passes are coming from around the head, behind the back, between the legs.. you just don’t know what coming,” Hull told reporters on media day. Reese was a standout star in the WNBA last season and had a stellar rookie campaign, finishing second to Caitlin Clark in the Rookie of the Year voting. An injury towards the end of the season, ended her chances of winning the coveted prize but the 22-year-old cemented herself as one of the best players in the league. Unrivaled begins with Reese and Rose Basketball playing on opening day against Vinyl Basketball.
