"Don't try to appease everyone," the 'Call Her Daddy' host tells PEOPLE exclusively of her go-to guidance
Alex Cooper knows all about making it as an entrepreneur — and she's now sharing her advice on how to do the same.
"My advice to everyone that is trying to start businesses is don't get sidetracked," the Call Her Daddy podcast host, 30, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"Don't try to appease everyone. Don't try to do a million things at once," continues Cooper, who recently launched her new Unwell Hydration beverage line.
"If you focus on the one thing that you are educated on, and you are essentially a savant in, then just focus on that and trust your gut because trying to appease everyone is not going to get you anywhere," the star adds.

Cooper created her popular podcast back in 2018. Call Her Daddy was then acquired by Barstool Sports one month after its first episode premiered.
In 2021, Cooper signed a three-year deal with Spotify worth $60 million for Call Her Daddy. Next year, the podcast will move to SiriusXM. (Multiple outlets reported that the deal is said to be worth over $100 million.)

"I am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM. The Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM, we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners the best experience," Cooper said in a statement. "The Daddy Gang wants more, so we're getting ready to give them more…I can't wait for this new chapter to begin."
Cooper also started The Unwell Network, which is described on its website as "a home for new shows, creators and experiences all centered around our true lives and real conversations," in 2023.
According to Cooper, those interested in becoming entrepreneurs should also find a way to make themselves — and their ideas — stand out.
"Being in the space of social media, I think there's just so many ideas and things that you can gravitate towards," she explains. "There's so many people that are doing so many different things that, as an entrepreneur, every day you could come up with a new idea."
"I think sticking to one idea and making it the main thing is how I've succeeded with Call Her Daddy," Cooper continues.
She adds: "For almost five years, I did nothing but Call Her Daddy, and I just grinded. I didn't take brand deals, I didn't put my face next to other products — I just focused on the main thing."
