Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Face Backlash After Daughter, 11, Publishes Skincare Book
Actor Alec Baldwin is facing backlash after letting his 11-year-old daughter Carmen publish her own skincare book.
Actor Alec Baldwin is facing backlash yet again, and this time, it is not related to the “Rust” shooting or his upcoming reality series.
Instead, fans are more concerned for the 11-year-old daughter that he shares with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin. There have been concerns that the 11-year-old has been forced to grow up too early, especially with six other young children in the home to care for, but now fans believe that she is being forced to grow up too fast.
Hilaria Baldwin Promotes Her Daughter’s ‘Growing Up’ Skincare Beauty Book
On Friday, Hilaria Baldwin took to Instagram to promote her 11-year-old daughter’s skincare book, titled, “Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty Empowerment, Self-Care, and Natural Radiance in One Inspiring Guide.” The book was published by Di Angel Publications and will be officially released on March 23.
“It’s a guide to embracing self-care, building confidence, and celebrating natural beauty,” she explained in the caption. “We are so proud of you Carmen, and so excited to share this project with you all!” She also let her followers know that they will be signing the first 500 copies.
Hilaria Says Carmen Has Been Making Her Own Skincare Products At Home
Even though she is only 11, the former yoga instructor indicated that her daughter has been making her own skincare products at home for a while. “If your child is like ours, skincare is an obsession. Walking that line of letting them explore and have fun, but also being conscious of what they are putting on their skin is a hard one!” she wrote in the caption.
“We strike a balance in our home and part of it has been Carmen led by watching her make her own skincare products, from our kitchen, researching, learning about beneficial ingredients, creating, and having fun!” she added.
The post received praise for the daughter Alec Baldwin shares with his ex-wife Kim Basinger, Ireland Baldwin, who commented, “Cuuuuuuute!!!” Hilaria responded, “We love you” along with a red heart emoji.
Fans Think Alec Baldwin’s 11-Year-Old Daughter Is Being Treated Too Old For Her Age
Although the “30 Rock” actor commented, “I’m proud of you too,” there were many negative comments that were left on the post. One fan wrote, “Omg she’s too young” along with a crying emoji. The post caught Ireland’s attention, who asked, “To learn to cook and early healthy food for glowing skin or?”
Another follower chimed in with a son who was the same age as Carmen. “My son is Carmen’s age and still watches Ninjago while playing with Legos in his underwear. Why does Carmen get treated like she’s 17?” they asked.
“It’s called money, agenda, and other arrangements. Everyone needs to know how to play with the players. Anything can be arranged. Nothing in business or life is a coincidence,” another user replied.
‘Why Would ANYONE Take Beauty Advice From An 11-Year-Old?’
Another follower asked why anyone would take advice from a child when there were so many other celebrities and influencers promoting their own skincare brands. “Why would ANYONE take beauty advice from an 11-year-old who looks older?! Let her have her childhood…she’ll have more than enough time to be an adult!” one user exclaimed.
“She looks like she’s almost 20. I can’t wrap my head around how she’s my kid's age. It’s like she’s not even a kid, super strange,” another follower agreed.
“11 years old don't need skincare except for a good face wash,” a third user chimed in, prompting another netizen to add, “Absolutely too young… they’re trying to make her look 21.”
Fans Think The Baldwins Are Going The Kardashian Route
Combined with their upcoming reality series, “The Baldwins,” many expressed concern that the Baldwin family was trying to reinvent their image and end up just like the Kardashian/Jenner family. “Why push an 11-year-old into an adult world?” another user asked. “We are becoming a nation of Kardashians. Sad.”
“It’s all about money,” one user commented, to which another follower added, “Money… and the attention.”
As The Blast previously reported, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are parents to seven children: Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months, María Lucía Victoria, 3, Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas, 3, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Rafael Thomas, 8, and Carmen Gabriela, 11.
Hilaria Baldwin reportedly wants to use their upcoming reality series to advocate "for moms getting their ‘me time' too,” and "prioritizing" both "solo time with Alec" as well as "her own health and wellness” while raising a large family.
