Police in Ohio are searching for suspects after a 19-year-old woman was stripped of her clothes and attacked last month.

The Akron Police Department in Ohio told PEOPLE in a statement that officers responded to a report of an assault — involving a 19-year-old woman who was not identified — on Beardsley Street, located approximately 42 miles south of Cleveland, on Friday, Dec. 27.

The young woman claimed to officers that she “was repeatedly assaulted” and “forced to remove her clothing” by at “least three teens” in the basement of a home on the same street. Police alleged that she “sustained numerous injuries to her head, face, and body” during the “attack.”

Police also alleged that at “some point” after the assault, she was “made to leave the residence partially clothed” and “walked several blocks” before a bystander called 911 reporting the incident.

Akron Police Department Capt. Michael Miller told WOIO-TV that the girl had been persuaded to go to the home by people who she had considered to be friends, but once she got there, she was attacked.

“It is very humiliating, very traumatizing we imagine, for this young woman, this victim. Very disappointing too that the people involved would commit this crime,” Miller said, per WOIO-TV.

He told the outlet that the 19-year-old was eventually able to escape and ran out of the home seeking help on the street without any clothes — something Miller described as “humiliating.”

In an Akron Police dispatcher call obtained by WOIO-TV, the Good Samaritan told police that they had found the girl walking naked and said that the young girl told them somebody “jumped her and robbed her.”

“Thank God we have a community out there and people that care enough to step in and give some aid and help,” Miller told WOIO-TV.

One person — identified as Kendall Worthy — was arrested on charges of kidnapping, robbery and assault in connection with the incident, police confirmed to PEOPLE.

However, police said they were still working on apprehending the two others — a 13 and 14 year-old — involved in the crime. Miller told WOIO-TV that there may even be more suspects who may be involved in the incident.

“This may not even, in fact, be limited to just three people that participated in the assault,” he said. “There may have been some other people with knowledge or perspective that the detectives may want to talked to. We want to hold, in the end, any and everyone responsible."

As for Worthy, her bond was set at $100,000. Her latest court date appearance was on Monday, Jan. 6, WOIO-TV reported.
