Ford revealed its EcoBoost Mustang RTR, engineered in partnership with Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Mustang tuning firm RTR, which stands for Ready to Rock. Designed to offer more power and performance than the stock model, the new Mustang RTR isn’t just an appearance package. It is, indeed, ready to rock.

The 2025 model year saw the demise of the Ecoboost Mustang’s 2.3-liter High Performance Package, which left a hole in the lineup of the S650 Generation. Customers who crave the raw power of the Shelby GT350 can still opt of the Dark Horse Mustang and the GT’s performance packages, but the option for a more obtainable tire-shredding machine for autocross competitions and the like was missing, until now. Ford is marketing the Mustang RTR to fit that need.

The Blue Oval didn’t offer many details about the new Mustang RTR’s performance upgrades, but borrowing elements from the Dark Horse Mustang was mentioned. Ford describes the overall look as “a one-off body wrap inspired by naval camouflage and designed by RTR.”

During the reveal, Vaughn mentioned that the car would have an “anti-lag supported turbo” and would contain “signature RTR design elements” that would differentiate the RTR from the standard EcoBoost Mustangs, such as massive Hyper Lime Brembo brake calipers, a new upper grill featuring a pair of illuminated portholes, a rear spoiler, and new  aggressively offset 19-inch wheels “to help with stance and performance.”

The goal of the build, according to Gittin, Jr., is to “bring enthusiasts the most advanced, accessible and fun Mustang EcoBoost possible.” By working with Ford’s engineers, RTR had a hand in refining every element on the new Mustang, making it the “Ecoboost of his dreams.”

That’s all we know for now. Further details will be released when Ford officially launches the new model in the upcoming months.
