2025 Ram HD reveals bold updates for the new year
The 2025 Ram HD lineup gets a bold facelift, enhanced tech, and improved towing capacity.
RAM has just announced the arrival of its 2025 model year Heavy Duty lineup, which includes new powertrains, boosted infotainment features, and a new look to wrap it all up.
The truck comes in two flavors, the RAM Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500, with the 3500 being the more powerful of the two, as in previous years. Seven trims are also available for the new trucks, including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited Longhorn, and Limited models. Each will offer a different mix of aesthetics, comfort, and practicality, helping the new RAM trucks appeal to a broader audience.

New RAM Heavy Duty packs even more power
With a 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output Turbo Diesel under the hood, the new RAM 3500 Heavy Duty packs a bit more punch than previous generations have to offer. If you do opt for the 6.7, you’ll have 430 horsepower at your disposal alongside a class-leading 1,075 lb.-ft. of torque.
If that all seems a bit much, the new RAM 2500 Heavy Duty offers another powertrain option: a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 capable of delivering 405 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque.
Towing capacity has been improved
RAM’s new powertrains make a pretty significant performance difference, with the 2500’s new HEMI engine shaving an impressive 6.9 second 0-60 mph time, shaving 1.1 seconds off the previous model’s time. That's not bad at all for such a large ICE vehicle.
However, it is a truck, not a dragster, so its real strength is in the towing department. The top-of-the-line Ram 3500 Heavy Duty can haul over 36,600 pounds, and it also boasts a payload of almost 7,600 pounds.

RAM Heavy Duty gets a facelift
Not all of the changes to the 2025 RAM Heavy Duty have taken place under the hood. The truck has also received a bit of a facelift this time around. At the front, you’ll notice a new grille accompanying the LED headlights, which now come as standard on the base model, and more premium beams on higher trims.
LED taillights are now fitted to the back of the vehicle, and blind spot monitoring is also built into select models. RAM claims the truck sits on a set of newly designed wheels, with the exact designs again varying by trim.
RAM’s heavy-duty pickup is packed with new infotainment features
On the dash of the 2025 RAM Heavy Duty, you’ll either find a new-and-improved 12-inch or 14.5-inch touchscreen display powered by what RAM describes as the “most advanced Uconnect system ever.” Both screens are rocking better contrast ratios than their predecessors, with the 12-inch boasting a higher resolution as well.

For the first time in this segment, the new RAM also features a 10.25-inch passenger screen with several functions, including entertainment, co-pilot features, and access to the vehicle’s external cameras. An HDMI plug allows users to connect a phone or any other HDMI-enabled device and control it through the screen. The passenger screen isn’t visible from the driver’s seat either, eliminating any risk of distraction.
Final thoughts
If you’re itching to get your hands on the new RAM Heavy Duty 2500 or 3500, then you won’t have to wait long. RAM claims the trucks will be offered for sale in Q1 2025, so sometime before April.
In terms of pricing, the RAM 2500 starts at $47,560, including destination charges. The 3500 comes in at just over $1000 more with a starting price of $48,565, also including destination charges. Price will ultimately vary by trim, though, with the more luxurious upper-level trims commanding a higher MSRP.
