A family-owned pizza delivery place in the Chicago area just celebrated its 60th year in business in an old school way, by throwing it back to 1964, the year that Rosati’s Pizza first opened its doors. The six-decade celebration not only included rollback pricing on its 14-inch, two-topping pizza to 1964 pricing, which meant customers could walk away with a pie for just $3.50, but Rosati’s took the promotion a giant step further by giving away a 1964 Chevrolet Impala to a very lucky pizza lover.

The ’64 Impala was selected to represent the opening year of Rosati’s Pizza, the Italian restaurant founded by Sam Rosati. Not only that, but it was also the kind of car that would be seen delivering pizzas during that era. This particular classic Chevy is said to have possibly been one of the cars that delivered pizzas for Rosati’s back in the day.

Before arriving at the lucky winner’s doorstep, the classic Chevrolet Impala was driven on a multi-state 60th Anniversary Car Tour. It covered nine states, stopping in Las Vegas, Nevada, where the Impala’s new owner was announced at the Circa Resort and Casino. Along the tour, the pizza promos included slices and sips from its Coca-Cola partner at no charge. Rosati also had 60th Anniversary merchandise available. Once the tour was completed, the Impala began its adventure to its new home.

Instead of pizza, the Rosati’s CEO, Jeff Rosati set off to deliver the Chevy Impala to the lucky winner, a Machesney Park, Illinois pizza-lover, Angela Lameyer. A regular at Rosati’s Pizza, she had previously entered the pizza place’s 1964 Chevy Impala giveaway and has fond memories of the location, which was one of her late mom’s favorite places to get her slice of pie. She was shocked when the classic red Impala showed up in her driveway and even more surprised to find out it was all hers.

“I just can’t believe it; I just can’t. I’m so thankful, it’s beautiful,” she exclaimed, expressing her appreciation.
