Rare 2006 Ford GT with under 2,000 miles is up on Bring a Trailer
A 2006 Ford GT, untouched by time, is now up for grabs.
If yesterday's Cobra replica auction on Bring a Trailer wasn't quite your cup of tea, we've got another option for you.
This 2006 Ford GT has only 1,900 miles on the odometer and is one of 2,011 examples built that model year. It's not quite Rosso Corsa, but the Mark IV Red paint job, contrasting black leather interior, white racing stripes, and red Brembo calipers should be racy enough to instill fear in any stoplight drag racers.
This particular example also rides on the optional $3,500 BBS forged lightweight aluminum wheels, which are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires 235/45 front and 315/40 rear.
Some of the notable service records mentioned in the listing include new airbag inflators in 2018, an oil and coolant flush along with a new starter in 2024, and a brake fluid flush in preparation for the sale. If you live in California, you'll also be pleased to know that the car also comes with a December 2024 smog certificate. That'll keep the DMV off your back for a bit.

The original owner of this Ford GT did not skimp on options
In addition to the BBS wheels, other options noted on the window sticker include the $4,000 McIntosh radio, the $750 Brembo brake calipers, and the $5,350 white racing stripes. That's $13,600 in options, which, on top of the $2,100 gas guzzler tax, added up to a $165,695 MSRP before destination & delivery charges.
The Ford GT had some big shoes to fill, but boy, did it do it well
For those in need of a history lesson, the Ford GT was Ford's revival of the storied GT40 racers of the 1960s. Y'know, the ones that laid the smackdown on old man Enzo at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. You've seen Ford v. Ferrari. This was the first generation of the GT that ran from 2005 to 2006 before the second generation took over from 2017 to 2022. 4,038 examples of the first-generation Ford GT were produced.
Regardless of model year, this Ford GT used a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and a helical limited-slip differential. This one benefits from an aftermarket Borla cat-back exhaust, letting those 550 horses run free to a top speed of 205 mph.

Fun fact: the left headlight cluster was designed to read "100" to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary.
Final thoughts
With less than 2,000 miles on the odometer, this is basically a new 2006 Ford GT. If you've ever wanted your own example of Ford's supercar, this is one of the best chances you'll get.
At the time of writing, this auction ends tomorrow and is currently at $400,000. Past sales seem to be all over the place, with a similarly-specced 346-mile 2005 Ford GT selling for $463,500 in December and a silver 472-mile 2005 Ford GT selling for $620,000 that same month.
Maybe you'll be the one to get a sweet deal on this example. If you are, can we get a ride?
