Mitsubishi's 2025 Outlander just leveled up
Refinements are on the way for the brand's most popular crossover.
Mitsubishi is riding on the success of what’s arguably its most successful vehicle this century. Although it’s no Lancer Evolution, or even a true Ralliart, the Outlander is a competent family crossover that’s been a hit since the current gen hit the market for 2022.
Wasting no time, Mitsubishi is capitalizing on its success with a refresh that benefits the interior and audiophiles everywhere. The Rogue-based Outlander is also deviating further from its Nissan twin with new unique features.

Yamaha in the Outlander is a BFD
Famed sound equipment manufacturer Yamaha, is embarking on new journeys as Mitsubishi announced that the 2025 Outlander will receive a “significantly upgraded audio system on all trim levels.” It claims this is the “first time that Yamaha has ever developed an in-car audio system for a North American-market vehicle.”
This complements Mitsubishi's introduction of SiriusXM's available 360L on-demand satellite streaming service.

A tweaked cabin sets the Outlander apart from competition
Although the Outlander has much in common with the Nissan Rogue, it becomes less apparent when examining the cabin design. The new generation adopts a larger display along the center console refinements to improve overall comfort. A selection of new interior colors will also be offered for further personalization.
The Yamaha stereo gets a unique speaker grille design to complement the audio upgrade, and are those ventilated seats I see? Seat ventilation isn’t available in the Rogue, not even in the top Platinum trim.
The Outlander's suite of standard features also impresses
The 2024 Outlander comes with standard with front-wheel drive, while Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control, their all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, is available as an option. Whether AWD becomes standard equipment for 2025 remains to be confirmed.
An impressive list of safety features cone standard on the 2024 Outlander, including blind spot warning, lane-departure warning, lane-change assist, driver attention alert, automatic high beams, hill descent control, and trailer stability assist.
A 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and traffic sign recognition are also available as options. While yet to be confirmed, all of these features are expected to carry over to the 2025 model year.

Mitsubishi also claims it has directly addressed the concerns of existing customers, with its design and engineering teams taking feedback and incorporating styling changes to go with improved on- and off-highway driving manners.
Final thoughts
Mitsubishi has not revealed detailed information about the exterior styling changes, but it's expected to be just a facelift. In similar fashion, while there are indeed changes to the interior, it’s not a total revamp of a crossover that’s been on sale for a few years at this point.
The automaker is eager to put the 2025 Outlander in customers' hands though, which is why it is set to arrive in dealerships around the same time the updated model is fully revealed on February 24.
