Maserati partners with Sparco for Trident-exclusive racing kits
The two Italian brands joined forces to create racing kits for Maserati's customers that are both safe and damn stylish
Maserati's recent dedication to high-speed shenanigans is clear. Take, for example, their GT2-based Stradale, a road-legal version of their GT2 race car which, itself, is based on the MC20. Take the train to crazy town and you'll be greeted by the Maserati MCXTrema, a heavily modified MC20 built exclusively for track use.

Bespoke racing equipment for bespoke customers
Such pursuits of roaring redlines must be accompanied by adequate safety measures, a fact that Maserati echoes. Through a recent partnership with racing clothing and motorsport equipment manufacturer Sparco, the two have created exclusive FIA-approved Maserati-branded racing kits. Dubbed "Replica" and "MCXtrema," the two kits include a race suit, helmet, shoes, gloves, and other accessories.
The racing kits were revealed at the Modena Autodromo as part of Maserati's Trident Experience event, a celebration of the storied brand’s 110th anniversary.
The Replica kit is meant to mimic the racing suit design of Maserati's professional drivers. Customers can choose from two helmet models, the Air RF-5W full-face or the Pro RJ-31 Air open-face with a new peak design for sun protection. Available additions include racing underwear, balaclava, and even twin duffel bags in two sizes.

The MCXtrema kit allows owners of the exclusive car to flex their status
On the exclusive side of things is the MCXtrema kit. Available solely to the 62 owners fortunate enough to own an MCXtrema, it includes both a "Top Suit" and a "Super Light Suit" depending on your specific use case. To go along with both kinds of racing suits, drivers get either reinforced "Laces Shoes" or more lightweight "Strap Shoes."
Maserati also says this version of the kit can be personalized by the drivers, although the release did not specify how.
The MCXtrema kit offers helmets made entirely of carbon fiber, with options including the Sky RF-7W full-face and the Sky RJ-7 open-face models. Like the Replica Kit, customers can opt for racing underwear along with a balaclava. However, the duffel bags are upgraded to twowheeled cases in the MCXtrema kit.
Final thoughts
It's one thing to bring your own racing kit to the track, but donning a bespoke Maserati suit beside a car that only 61 other people in the world own is an otherworldly kind of flex.
Maserati has yet to announce the price of their Trident-adorned racing gear but it's likely one of those situations where the old adage of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it," likely rings true.
