Four new features on the 2025 Lincoln Aviator

When a new model year rolls around, you may be wondering exactly what has changed. Manufacturers have a habit of making minor tweaks year-to-year, which may leave you wondering why you don’t just save some money and make an offer on last year’s model when you visit the dealership.

This is less of a case when it comes to the 2025 Lincoln Aviator. While other Lincoln trims have seen larger-scale changes, there are still a few updates that make the current model year the one to go for. Let’s take a look at the tweaks Lincoln has made to the 2025 edition of its midsize SUV.

The first thing Lincoln aficionados are likely to notice about the 2025 Aviator is the redesigned front end. The iconic grille, which has had somewhat of a shakeup itself, now seamlessly meets the headlights.

As for exactly how the grille has changed, that depends on the trim you ultimately opt for. There is a subtle difference between the front ends available with each trim, and if you know what you’re looking for, it can be an easy way to identify that specific example's trim.

For example, the “Jet Appearance Package” removes the chrome surround and is available on all trims. The “Illumination Package,” which lights up the Lincoln logo, appears only on the “Reserve” level and above, while the most expensive "Black Label" offers the most customization options.

BlueCruise comes to the Lincoln Aviator for the first time.

For the first time, the Lincoln Aviator is able to take advantage of BlueCruise, Ford's hands-free driving system, as long as you have a subscription. Lincoln includes a four-year subscription to the Level 2 self-driving system as standard, after which you'll have to fork up the cash to continue the autonomous driving experience.

Or hire a chauffeur.

A new Lincoln digital experience sits at the interior’s center

This is arguably the best new feature on Lincoln’s 2025 Aviator model. While the 13.2-inch center screen you’ll be using to operate the infotainment system isn’t as bold as the dash-length display that debuted in the Nautilus, it is still enough to get the job done. Customization is central to Lincoln’s new digital experience, so drivers can segment their display in a way that suits them.

More importantly, the vehicle includes four years of Lincoln's premium connectivity suite, which bundles streaming, the WiFi hotspot, and Amazon Alexa into one package.

Two dark interiors launched with the 2025 model year: "Black" and the Black Label-exclusive "Flight." The latter is the more interesting of the two, using ample leather throughout the cabin in an ode to the history of air travel.

The “Invitation” interior also became an option on the Lincoln Aviator for the first time, having previously only existed as an option on the Navigator. If you prefer things on the lighter side, the Black Label-exclusive “Moonbeam” or the Reserve's “Light Space Grey” might do it for you. Lastly, if you envy the "Flight" interior but don't want to break the bank with the Black Label trim, the Reserve's “Harvest Bronze” might scratch that itch.

Lincoln has also introduced numerous exterior color options for the 2025 Aviator. Cenote Green, based on a color found in a famous body of Mexican cave water, is one of two new colors offered with the Black Label trim. Whisper Blue, Red Carpet, Crystal White, and Harbor Gray are also now available on all trims.

Final thoughts

The Lincoln Aviator never skimped on luxury, but this new model year's refresh adds enough distinguishing features to suggest that Lincoln has upped the ante.

If you're looking for an alternative to the Cadillac Escalade that will make people wonder about your net worth and company title, you can't go wrong with an Aviator. Let's not even mention the level of customization Lincoln has added to ensure you can spec your domestic SUV Rolls-Royce-style. Imagine if it had suicide doors, too.
