2025 Chevy Traverse goes upscale, drops base LS model adds High Country
The High Country ticks every option in the book, including Super Cruise, 22-inch wheels, and perforated leather.
Chevrolet introduced the third generation of its midsize three-row SUV for the 2024 model year. For its second year in production, the Traverse gets a slight feature shuffle while introducing the return of the classy High Country trim.
The base LS trim has also been dropped, leaving the LT as the cheapest Traverse with a higher starting price of $41,995. Let’s see what the 2025 Traverse can get you these days.

Standard features galore
The LT packs a ton of value with 18-inch wheels while LED lamps flank the outside. Inside, the driver is treated to an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, a 17.7-inch center touchscreen with wireless smartphone mirroring and Google built-in, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a power liftgate, and a wireless phone charger.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse High Country ups the ante with a unique chrome grille and clear taillamps. It also throws in 22-inch glossy two-tone black rims, Bose audio with ten speakers, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, second-row captain’s chairs, power-folding third row, a surround-view camera, rear pedestrian alert, and traffic sign recognition.
The Enhanced Driving package adds the semi-autonomous Super Cruise, automatic parking assist, and driver attention assist to ensure you’re not slumped over the wheel. The High Country also has tow guidance tech to make hookups easier, giving the rearview camera the ability to detect where the tow hitch is and display a centered line to guide you to it.

Under the hood remains the same
Regardless of the trim level, every Traverse comes with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder to replace the old V6. While the cylinder count is down, power jumps to 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque routed to the front wheels with optional all-wheel drive (AWD). All Traverses use an eight-speed automatic.
The EPA posts meaningful gains in city fuel mileage for the 2025 Traverse, netting 20 mpg and 27 mpg on the highway. That’s a two-mile-per-gallon improvement over the 2023 Traverse, which was rated for 18 mpg city. The highway fuel economy is the same.
Opting for AWD drops the Traverse 19 mpg city / 24 mpg highway. That’s still an improvement of two mpg in the city, but one mile per gallon lost to the 2023 model on the highway.
Final thoughts
The best look we could get of the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse High Country is on the brand configurator, which is now live. A welcome addition to the usual assortment of neutral colors is purple, formally called Stardust Metallic, which blends well with the wheels and subtle chrome.
With an MSRP of $54,995, the High Country is a compelling option for buyers prioritizing family needs.
