The official performance numbers are in for the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The supercar, which promised 1,064 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 when Chevrolet revealed the new sports car last summer, is now ranked as the fastest car ever built by an American auto manufacturer.

In October of this year, at a test track in Germany, General Motors President Mark Reuss drove a 2025 Corvette ZR1 to 233 miles-per-hour, setting a top speed record unrivaled by any current production car priced under $1 million. Now Chevrolet confirms that the ZR1 Corvette blasts down the quarter-mile in a quick 9.6 seconds at 150 miles-per-hour. The automaker also claims the super sports car will reach 60 miles-per-hour in 2.3 seconds.

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 has some serious power, especially when you consider that it’s rear-wheel drive and over 500 horses are being sent to each powered wheel. Meanwhile, the prior 2024 Corvette Z06 offers 670 horsepower, runs the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds, and has a 2.6-second 0-to-60-mph time. The new ZR1 offers 105 more horsepower than the Z06, a 16-percent increase in power, but it comes at an approximate 64-percent increase in price. To up the ante even further, the ZR1 Corvette that Chevrolet used to set its top speed record was equipped with the ZTK Performance Package. The base model ZR1 Corvette is still capable of reaching 60 miles-per-hour in 2.5 seconds and completing the quarter-mile in 9.7 seconds. Chevrolet ran the tests using ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires and 93-octane gas, without the use of a prepped drag surface.

“The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations,” chief engineer Josh Holder said in a statement. “Combined with a top speed record of 233 mph – which is unrivaled by any current production car priced under $1 million – the Corvette ZR1 delivers on its mission to provide customers unrelenting power.”

2025 Corvette ZR1 at a glance:

  • A 5.5L, twin-turbocharged LT7 DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine
  • 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm, per SAE guidelines — the most power ever from a factory Corvette and the most powerful V8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer
  • The fastest car ever built by an American auto manufacturer, capable of 233 mph
  • Purposeful carbon fiber aero package creating over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed

Eighth-generation Corvette 0 to 60 mph stats:

  • Stingray with available Z51 package: 2.9 seconds
  • Z06 with available Z07 package: 2.6 seconds
  • E-Ray: 2.5 seconds
  • ZR1 with available ZTK package: 2.3 seconds

While the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 supercar’s numbers are impressive, it’s still a far cry away from beating the fastest production car in the world, the 300-plus horsepower Bugatti Chiron Super Sport with a top speed of 304 miles-per-hour.
